Benalla is now renowned as Australia's regional street art capital with more than 60 murals by national and international artists adorning buildings and laneways in the CBD and beyond. Since 2015 the annual Wall to Wall Festival has been held the week before Easter where 20+ artists turn the town into a giant outdoor gallery with live music, workshops and markets creating a festival atmosphere. Many murals are painted over each year as is the nature of ephemeral strrrt art, so be sure to take pics of your favourite before the next festival.
