Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site is one of Canada’s fine examples of how the fur trade helped shape the nation. Enjoy exhibits, walk through archaeological remains of the four forts, get hands on experience with Métis skills of the fur trade. Stay awhile and camp in Indigenous trapper’s tents and tipis.
Explains the Fur Trading History. Has it all, museum, walking trails, interpretive signs, Display Fort. Along Saskatchewan River, Rocky Mountain House fur trading post was the furthest post in the West due to the Rocky Mountains. Very nice, well worth a visit.
A short 25 minute drive worth a visit. Informative exhibits and interactive demonstrations.
