Lace up your hiking boots and head to Mount Worth State Park for walking tracks that weave through mountain ash and blue gum forest. Replete with fern glades, lyrebirds and the enormous Standing Giant, a 300-year-old mountain ash, the trails range from an easy 30-minute stroll to more moderate 3-hour hikes that take you through several sites of old logging sawmills from the early 1900’s. It is fun to find remnants of the sawmills slowly being hidden by the returning bush growth. There are great picnic amenities (including restrooms) which provide the opportunity to enjoy local food and wine you can buy from Yarragon Village.

Mount Worth State Park protects a remnant of the forests that once covered the western Strzelecki Ranges. It is a stunning, peaceful location and one of Baw Baw’s most incredible hidden gems. Tall, wet forests of Mountain Ash, Mountain Grey Gum, and Blackwood grow on the hills and slopes. Tree ferns flourish in sheltered gullies, offering every visitor the opportunity to experience them up close with several walks throughout the park. You may see one of our local lyrebird friends scratching amongst the leaf litter or discover relics of the timber industry that operated on the slopes around Mount Worth in the 1920s.

Mount Worth State Park is Baw Baw’s undiscovered paradise. Take a walk through this stunning forest which offers plenty of stunning surrounds to gaze upon. Only a 10-minute drive from the farm stay, wanderers can’t get enough of the flourishing tree ferns, wet forests of mountain ash, mountain grey gum and blackwood that grow on the hills and slopes. Don't forget to take a picnic or some meat to put on the bbq. There are toilets at the carpark and plenty of room for the kids to play a game of cricket or kick of the football.
