Puffing Billy choofs away from Belgrave to Emerald around 3 times a day - a delightful little whistle toots as it rolls along. Sometimes Thomas the Tank Engine is in Emerald too.

Puffing Billy is Australia’s favourite steam train and is one of the finest preserved steam railways in the world. This century old train is still running on its original 25 kilometre mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, through the beautiful forests and fern gullies of the Dandenong Ranges. The open-sided carriages are the best way to see the stunning views and you can even dangle your legs over the side of the carriages – if you dare! You can catch the train at any of the stations on the line, including Emerald.
