    Cooking experiences on Airbnb allows you to immerse yourself in the culinary world and enables hosts to share their passion for food. While attending a cooking experience, we recommend all guests and hosts follow general best practices around food safety. Airbnb has partnered with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), American Red Cross, and the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC) to provide our community with food safety and general safety resources.

    Reporting food safety issues

    All food experiences must comply with Airbnb’s Guidelines for Safe Food Handling, developed based on PAHO/WHO’s Five Keys to Safer Food program, as well as applicable local food safety standards and local laws. If we’re made aware that an experience violates these requirements we’ll take action, which may include removing the experience.

    If you feel that there was a violation of Airbnb’s food safety guidelines during an experience, contact Airbnb directly. If the experience took place in California and you can report a food safety issue to a local environmental health agency.

    Airbnb provided trip protections

    All experiences include 24/7 community support. We also maintain $1,000,000 USD of liability insurance under our Experience Protection Insurance program in order to provide hosts and guests with peace of mind (certain exclusions apply). Additionally, in the event of a life-threatening injury, we’ve partnered with an emergency medevac provider that may be activated to reach an injured party to support a medically necessary evacuation.
