Nocturnal Adventure Glowworm Tour
You will be picked up by a comfortable modern vehicle. We will travel in a small group for 25 minutes to the location . Once kitted up with headlights and red night torches we will begin a 2 km walk through the darkness of a native New Zealand forest. Along the way we will encounter towering trees and cascading waterfalls, giant silver ferns lighting up like fire works . The highlight would have to be the glowworms as breath taking as our clearest night sky. You will be able to get up close and fully understand this amazing creature. No two nights are ever the same. Wallabies and possums patrol the area, Weta and other insects can be encountered. Other things to note we operate in most weather conditions except high winds and severe rain
The Contemporary Jeweller
Studio 42’s 3-hour Jewellery Class is a creative adventure where students learn the skills to design and create a piece of silver jewellery from scratch. It’s a hands-on class full of learning, laughing and producing something exceptional to take away. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? To start, you will do a quick trial project to get comfortable with the tools and equipment, covering techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. With your new skills, you will then have the freedom to design and develop a piece of silver jewellery of your choice. Depending on your designs, you may also incorporate disc cutting, roller printing, doming, texturing and blackening the metal; all skills that your instructor Jess will be there to advise you on. WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR? Every skill level is welcome to join this 3-hour class. From complete beginners to seasoned pros, everyone can make Studio 42 their own. If you do have previous jewellery making skills, you are more than welcome to work independently at your level. This 3-hour class is one of Queenstown’s “must-do” experiences and a great rainy-day option for solo travellers, couples or the whole family!

An introduction to Wellington
Each tour explores a wide variety of locations that Wellington has to offer, small adjustments may be made to suit the particular interests of each group or individual. Tours take approximately 3 hours Each tour will begin at the Wellington train station then onto the government precinct, older residential areas, the botanical gardens which will explore exotic and native bush as well as panoramic views, then the cafe and entertainment scene, the waterfront, some archeological sites, and finally Wellington’s main shopping street, 'The Golden Mile’. Though this may sound like a lot to fit in, Wellington is a uniquely compact city. The only way to experience it is by foot.
Hokitika History Walk with Ann
Please note there is a two person minimum for this tour. Message me first to book one person. We’ll meet outside the î site near the town clock. When we’ve introduced ourselves we’ll set off walking past Seddon House which was our first Government Building. I’ll tell you the story about English Pioneer Richard Seddon who came to the West Coast and ended up being Premier of New Zealand. He was quite a character. Afterwards we’ll continue our walk to the Heritage Area along the Hokitika River. Here you’ll see and hear the stories of the sailing ships that brought passengers and supplies to the West Coast. Then we’ll try and work out how they fitted 80 hotels into the main street in the 1860s. There’ll be plenty of time to take photos on our walk. We’ll stop outside the Carnegie Building and hear how Andrew Carnegie the Scottish American Industrialist donated money to the colonies to build libraries. If you are interested in this experience but can’t find a date or time to suit you please use the Ask Ann feature on the booking page to contact me to arrange a suitable time. Other things to note You don’t need to be extra fit. We’ll keep to a pace to suit the whole group. There are seats to sit on along the way.

Jade Carving Workshop Christchurch
This a great introduction to Jade carving and a very hands on, immersive experience. All my jade carving equipment is for one person, so you will be the only person in the studio carving the Jade. I look forward to welcome you into my, personal daily, workspace. I will go over any health and safety tips as well as explaining how my equipment works. You will be able to pick a piece of Jade which speaks to you, due to it color, size or shape. You can also choose to work with a special beach pebble you may have found. Please note: the sizes of Jade to choose from are up to 70mm long. I can provide a bigger size for additional cost. (Incase bring some cash money with you) The next step will be to make a simple sketch appropriate to the stone you chose. From here on the fun will begin! You get to carve your basic design and get to see it come to life in your hands! I will show you all the processes to complete your art work to your liking. Some processes are grinding the Jade with diamond wheels, drilling holes, sanding and polishing. Please note that we are working with genuine New Zealand Jade which will have its own characteristics and inclusions and may not always take a high shiny polish. In the 3 hours you will be able to create a basic shape appropriate to your skill level, too intricate work is not very realistic. No previous experience needed to do this workshop.

Farm Animal Experience near Oamaru
Visit our 300 acre bull beef farm, learn a little about what and how we farm and then meet, feed and pet our collection of cute farm animals. The tour begins at the family house where we will get you into a pair of gumboots (don't forget to bring a pair of socks). There is no set order as to how the tour goes, it all depends on where the animals are located at that time and also what is happening on the farm. We will discuss the process of rearing bulls from calves and then fattening for market. The majority of the tour is spent meeting our farm pets and feeding them so if you love animals this is your chance to get close and personal. We have 3 alpaca, pet sheep, Eponine the Kune Kune pig, a large flock of chickens and ducks. Usually we are accompanied by some of the farm dogs. From October - February the chickens and ducks are breeding so sometimes you will get to see fluffy babies. From August -October we are rearing calves so bottle feeding a calf is possible. Bottle feeding lambs is sometimes available August - October. May-August is when our bulls are grazing on winter feed, which is quite interesting. Farming in New Zealand is different from a lot of other countries as our animals are outdoors and grass-fed for the majority of the year.
