Best beaches
Tavira island is well worth the short ferry ride...long stretches of white sand, azure calm ocean and a choice of restaurants and cafes.
Accessible by a long walkway or a little train, Barril is another beautiful beach that stretches for kilometres. Just off the dunes are restaurants, snack bars and shops which make this a great day’s outing.

A short drive from Tavira this beautiful beach is accessed on boardwalks through the dunes from the car park up the hill. Dolphins are often seen here and you’ll find a variety of restaurants from more expensive closer to the beach to cheap and cheerful up top.
