Food scene
Order the house prawns or the house cataplana for 2 people (but enough for 3) with meat and fish, they are my my favorites. The portions are really big so skip the starters or even some dishes meant for one are large enough for 2 people to share eg. the pork alentejana, the beef stroganoff and all the pasta dishes. Get there early as they only take bookings from 6pm until 7pm and after that they do a waiting list. It is not unusual to see a queue outside the door.

This place i usually prefer to go during the winter as some of my favorite dishes here are stewed traditionally from further north but really it is good all year round as they also have lighter dishes for summer like great fish and seafood dishes. My favourite things to have here are the lamb stew, the oxtail stew in red wine and the shin of beef stewed in beer. However the thing i alway order here is the bacalhau com natas (cod with cream) which is basically a slated cod and potato gratin. A must try! This place is a little pricier than most traditional portugese places but definitley not over priced. LIke most portugese restaurants this place has big portions including everything ive mentioned already so good for sharing. The menu is all hand writted and in portugese so the waiters may need to help you translate. Be careful to ask prices of the fresh seafood as they may not be listed on the menu. Also same goes for wine here. The owner doesnt have a wine list as his collection is HUGE and he is alway there to recommend you a choice based on what you prefer. But alway ask the price before you buy as his collection rages in price as well as variety. If you are a wine lover you will love this place.

For meat i love the picanha (brazilian beef steaks) or the turkey steaks with cream. The portions are generous so a good place for family style sharing. On Sundays they do a special every week of seafood rice. This is a must try and one portion is plenty for two people. Open for lunch and dinners.

BRUNCH BRUNCH BRUNCH!!! The brunch here is amazing all you can eat from 8am until 11am. They have a buffet with cold meats and cheeses, pasteries, cereal and fruits. Also included they have an al a carte menu featuring eggs benedict, pancakes, smoked salmon and even lamb chop as well as many more delicious options. With tea, coffee, juices and sparkling wine all included as much as you can eat and drink for 22 euro per person in this beautiful fine dining restaurant i think its a bargan for a special breakfast. Call ahead during busy months like july and august.

Sightseeing
This is one of my favourite places to go in lagos as the views here are a must see. From the ponte you can enjoy the cliff walk or bike ride all the way to praia de Canavial. Its not a long walk about 1 km from ponte de piedade to the end of the track so you can even drive park at the ponte and walk there and back to the car park which has a small cafe restaurant and public toilets beside. Cool off with a nice cold drink and the view of the atlantic ocean after. You can even catch a small boat if you decend the steps down the cliff and get a grotto tour in a small fishing boat which is a must do while in lagos. Price of the boat trips are usually around 15 euro per person for about 40 min tour. Definitley worth it.

This is one of my favourite places to go in lagos as the views here are a must see. From the ponte you can enjoy the cliff walk or bike ride all the way to praia de Canavial. It also has 2 pretty decent restaurants situated right beside it and is a source of natural argila or mineral clay that is excellent for you skin and is like having a free mud mask. It can get busy in the high season months like july or august but if you walk to the left or the right ends you usually find a quiet spot. However the rest of the year this beach is perfect for spending the day by the water as it is large enough that you have space if it is windy you can take shelter by the cliffs.

Praia de Porto Mós
This is one of my favourite beaches. It also has 2 pretty decent restaurants situated right beside it and is a source of natural argila or mineral clay that is excellent for you skin and is like having a free mud mask. It can get busy in the high season months like july or august but if you walk to the left or the right ends you usually find a quiet spot. However the rest of the year this beach is perfect for spending the day by the water as it is large enough that you have space if it is windy you can take shelter by the cliffs.
