Beaches

Playacar beach is easy to get to from our condo... just a 7 or 8 minute walk along 5th avenue. It is typically a larger beach, with more space than what the main beaches offer in town. There are no beach clubs, so take your own cooler, towels, and even chairs (which we have available in the condo).

This beach is just gorgeous. You can hire a cab to take you there, or we can help you arrange transportation. It takes around 20 minutes to drive there. The beach has two sections. 1) is a section with beach clubs, some music, food etc. 2) is a section without any restaurants... just grab your spot and enjoy the views. This beach is a must!

Indigo Beach is the closest beach to the condo - a simple 5 minute walk down the street on 12th. Indigo beach has a few different beach clubs, (Indigo and Zenzo), so it is super easy to grab a cerveza, listen to some live music, enjoy fresh food with sand under your feet. Great vibes and an easy way to spend the afternoon!

Sightseeing

Yal-Ku Lagoon in Akumal is a fantastic cenote perfect for snorkelling. You can make it a full day experience, or just stay for a few hours, but it is well worth a visit if you like snorkelling. You can rent a car to go, hire a cab, or we can help you arrange transportation if you have a larger group.

If you have ever wanted to see a turtle, then you should consider visiting Akumal Bay, in Akumal. This beach, is more than a beach... it is an area known for turtles, stingrays, and other fish. You are required to hire a guide for approximately $20/$25 per person (guides are on the beach and easy to find), and they take you to sectioned off areas where turtles are common. Guides apparently monitor visitors and are only allowed to have so many people in the bay looking for turtles (or so they say!). True or not, our experience was great (we say a huge turtle and huge sting rays, plus some pretty fish) and I could recommend this service once you get to Akumal. In order to get to Akumal, you can take a Collectivo (a local small bus), hire a cab, or for larger groups we can help arrange transportation. Akumal Bay has restaurants and beach clubs so you can grab a cerveza, and lunch and make a day in lovely Akumal.

Puerto Morelos is a quaint seaside town between Cancun and Playa del Carmen and the second biggest reef barrier of the world, just 500 meters off the shore. But you don't have to just go for snorkelling or diving, but you can enjoy lunch along the beach, shopping with loads of artisan goods and a walk through this sleepy charming town.
