Portuguese wine (vihno) and tapas (petiscos). I love this popular within locals and town guests this casual dinning. They have an outside terrace if you like to watch sunset while sipping your wine. If you manage to pace yourself leave some space for dessert. And guess ... it is less than 5 minutes walk from apartment. Booking recommended.

There are actually two restaurants: "La Cabana" - traditional portuguese grill (meat and seafood), casual dinning and "A Cabana" - Portuguese, French and international menu. "A Cabana" can accommodate vegans and vegetarians, but need to pre-booked and ask in advance.

Neighborhoods

Vilamoura is a part of Quarteira town. With property development and new contractions both areas has joined and even locals wouldn't tell you where one finishes and other starts. While Vilamoura offers luxury shops and upmarket restaurants, Quarteira offers beach, casual dinning and family fun. It worth to enjoy them both by feet or a summer train running between two towns.
Quarteira was one of the original resorts to be established along the beautiful Algarve coastline. The vast beach of golden sands and calm sea waters stretches the length of the town. Visit local Fish Market, Fruits and Vegetable Market that are situated near harbour next to each other and opens from 8 am to 2 pm. Walk along beach promenade and stop at one of the local cafe or restaurant to enjoy a drink and a seaview. In the summer there are market stalls along the promenade and if you lucky you can see some entertainers at a square.

For a real taste of Algarve luxury, Vilamoura resort is a must-see place to visit. Vilamoura marina is the main centre of activity with a huge range of restaurants, bars and shops (including many designer shops). Vilamoura attracts the wealthy, yachtsmen, golfers, celebrities and in fact, anyone who just fancies enjoying a rather nice place in the sun! Vilamoura has something for everyone to enjoy – there are boat trips (for those of us who don’t own a boat!), specially designed trails for walking and cycling and restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets.

Loule is a traditional Portuguese town and has a great ambience. Well, I love to walk main avenue, admire old buildings and new parks or explore it's little ruas (streets in Portuguese). Besides of being famous for it’s Saturday morning gipsy market, Loulé has a few historical monuments including Loule castle (13th/14th century) built on an area previously settled by the Romans; main church of Loulé, Igreja de S.Clemente and to the left of the square is a small, peaceful garden, Jardim dos Amuados (Garden of Sulks), which is an ancient Arab cemetery. A little further along the street from the castle is the Convent of Espírito Santo which also houses the municipal art gallery. Apart from the historical points of interest, there are also lots of cafés and shops in the criss-crossing network of cobbled alleys and streets and plenty of places to sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by! Loule market (see picture) is open all mornings except Sunday and worth to check out for eatable and drinkable souvenirs to take home like Porto wine, honey, sweets (doces), dry fruits, nuts and famous Portuguese piri-piri sauce.
