Is a modest renovated well sanitised, character workers cottage with beautiful city views in the heart of Wellington City.

We have city views inside and out, with two courtyards for entertaining whilst taking advantage of Mt Victoria's stunning sunsets. A beautiful cherry tree adorns the garden.

The studio offers street level private access to a modest comfortable open plan bedroom with a queensize bed, kitchenette, armchair, hotplate, microwave and dining table, and a wall mounted TV. The heat pump and an electric blanket are provided for those cooler nights. It has luxurious Sheridan bed linen, a comfortable mattress, and lots of pillows. The renovated kitchenette is stocked with all the essentials needed for dinner in/BBQ and or drinks in the courtyard. A chiminea (outdoor fire place) and bbq are available on request. Food items provided are coffee, tea, milk, yoghurt and cereal. There is a silent motel bar fridge, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and dishwasher. Feel free to help yourself to a light breakfast which includes cereal, yogurt, and fresh seasonal fruit with tea and coffee.

The separate freshly renovated private self contained laundry and bathroom is down a small flight ( 8 steps) of exterior stairs. It has a shower, toilet, under floor heating, heated towel rail, and we provide towels, hand towels, dressing gowns, face towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner exclusively for guest use. Beach towels are also supplied in the summertime, the beach 1km away.

The studio is fully serviced on departure of guests, and fresh linen is made available to guests twice weekly. Guests have access to AppleTV, Netflix, Google Chromecast, and a high speed unlimited data wifi.

The property is fully fenced with gates as we own a very tiny non hypoallergenic dog ‘Xena’, who does love people and may visit you at times. Please let us know if you’d prefer not to have any visits from our dog.

It’s a brisk walk up through the town belt to the Mount Victoria lookout, with fabulous views over Wellington.

A 5 min walk from the studio will take you to the Wellington waterfront, then another 5 min stroll along Oriental Parade to the main beach to where 'Beach Babylon' serves amazing brunches as well as dinners. If you take the short walk down Majoribanks Street you’ll find upmarket restaurants like Ortega Fish Shack, El Culo Del Mondo, and Capitol Restaurant. The cheap Eats are Mt Vic Chippery for fish and chips, Genghis Khan with it’s $23 all you can eat and Saigon Taste a Vietnamese must. Across the road is the Embassy Cinema which shows blockbusters and film festivals alike. When you cross over Kent Tce you're in Wellington’s restaurant and entertainment precinct - Courtney Place. On the corner, you’ll find Sweet Mother’s Kitchen and the Tasting Room. There are pubs, clubs, and restaurants all along Courtney Place into Cuba Street, open till the wee hours.

Wellington has a huge coffee and cocktail culture, and the Cherry Tree Bach is only minutes away with a brisk walk home or a quick taxi back up the hill. There are plenty of delivery options from hundreds of food places. Or pick up a quick bite on the way home.

I am an artist and my latest creation is the Cherry Tree Bach which is at the top of the magical gardens on our property in Mt Victoria, Wellington. I’ve created many design solution’s for making your stay more comfortable. I love design, feature film, quality TV, art, traveling, gardening, food, and technology.

I took time off from Feature Film career to pursue my passion for designing and building a beautiful creative landscape on our property, now it’s mostly done, I’m back at Weta FX and my son Oskar is helping with the day to day running.

Originally I am from Melbourne Australia but haven’t lived there for some time. I have traveled extensively on the east coast of Australia and now have many friends and family living there. I lived in London for 6 years whilst working in Soho’s Feature Film industry, (as a Texture Artist) I loved London’s international vibe. When traveled through Europe, I was especially fond of Barcelona, having friends and family living there.

My son Oskar is at Uni in Wellington NZ, and we are a part of Weta's family. I’ve worked on loads of films and at festivals. Xena, my adorable 2 kg Yorkshire terrier lives on the property and is a very gentle human-friendly companion.

I love meeting people from different parts of the world and I look forward to connecting with you as a host or traveler. I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible or being a good guest, depending on my role.
