18th Century farmhouse & property that has been redesigned with modern freshness and flare while maintaining its old farm/county appeal. Just the right amount of cool, hip & chill. Located In a primo location. 3 Bed/3 Bath. #1 master room w/ en-suite & #2 & #3 rooms share a full bath upstairs. Owners live in and service the home. When home. The Home & property are not child/pet proof as such - sorry but a no kids/pets/ policy is in effect.

Read our reviews, they are glowing. It is our home not a rental property. Our rates are below average for our amenities. We are not greedy, we want you to enjoy the county to the max and spread the love around. It's the healthy way. We are continually improving, updating, landscaping. We are complying with the new local bylaw regulations put in place in 2020. Our registration with the County will assure your utmost safety in regards to fire codes and the overall safety & legal conditions of your stay. We felt it important to add this to our listing this year to show our viewers that we take your stay very seriously.

So...This private room is #1 of 3 in our lovely large farmhouse.(2500+sqft). It is the premium room rental of the house as it is the only room with its own private, brand new en-suite bathroom. This room has 2 original large windows, providing lovely views South & West. Across the road to the south you will see the horses from Hadherway Stables. A west view window over the bed provides views of the working farmed fields and the stunning county sunsets. Another window also facing west in the bathroom. Making this the largest & best lit room in the house!
Outfitted with a very comfortable queen bed and quality linens. This room also has a mini fridge added in 2021

Full Kitchen & Laundry
Large Main Room - consists of dining area, living room space, stone fireplace and library.
Owners Bathroom
Sun Room/Breakfast/Sitting Room
Owners TV room - lcouch/chaise, tv, stereo room is pretty much private where we hang out keeping the dog away from our guests.

2nd Floor:
4 beautiful bedrooms- 1 master w/ ensuite, 2 private bedrooms with shared full bathroom. All with new beds and quality linens.
Owners private loft is also located upstairs off the back of the house.

On the property is also a work shop/drive shed and our magnificent signature Red Barn. These buildings are off limits currently.

Our back yard is a lovely space that you are encouraged to share. We have approx 3 acres here. There is a wild growth acre beyond the cut backyard that is used by guests. However we do have our airstream Stevie out back that gets rented so just be aware of its private guests & space. Wildlife abounds, Deer, Coyotes, countless bird species, rabbits, turtles, snakes, millions of frogs have all been witnessed on property.

Noteable comments based on guest feedback:

* Breakfast/Kitchen- We do not provide breakfast. NO petit déjeuner. We do provide a good self serve coffee & tea selection. However since the pandemic the full kitchen/appliances are no longer for guest use.

* The house is over 160 years old with original floor's. Thus - she can be pretty creaky. Escpecially in the quiet evenings. If you are a light sleeper -
even a tip toe to the bathroom has potential to wake you. Plugs might be a good idea. This has never been an issue with anyone and is no where near as bad as it sounds, we just like full disclosure of anything we can think of.
* We have a/c - however - real old house issue's here again with terrible insulation upstairs. Even with full ac on the upstairs bedrooms have been known to be a tad warm during the heat waves. windows open & fans in the rooms seem to have made 99..5% of our guests comfortable but there's that .5% . If you need full air conditioning and a climate controlled room, we are probably not the place for you.
* Taxi's & other transit options are very limited & slow around here, prepare accordingly.
* We recently acquired a new puppy(July/17) Patrick the pup seems likes a winner. He has a small dog bark when he first says hello and has the small dog attitude but once he's met you it’s fine. He's a small fellow, a chi cross. Sorry we are now hypocrite selfish dog owners with our no guest dogs policy but we imagine you understand.

Right in the heart of the county, on a truly unique county address. Here on Swamp College Road we are just minutes from the village of Wellington. The town boasts the famous Drake Devonshire Inn as well as other local haunts that contribute to its quaintness. We list these in more detail in our guide book. There is a Foodland grocery and Home Hardware store for your convenience too.

Numerous wineries make the county a desirable place to visit and many of them are within 20 minutes of our property. A VERY short bike ride to Karlo & Hubb Creek Wineries(1km) with over a dozen others all within a 5 to 10 minute drive.

As well as wineries there are also many vintage and antique shops to explore.

The Taste Trail and The Arts Trail are something to look into prior to your trip as they are a great way to see all that the county has to offer in both food and art.

The Wellington Farmer's Market happens every Saturday right on beautiful Lake Ontario.

The historic town of Bloomfield is a 15 minute drive to the East and boasts a main street of small boutiques, the Kin Cafe, The Agrarian restaurant and the best ice cream you'll ever taste (we highly recommend the flavour called campfire).

The Sandbanks Provincial Park is a must see and is a 25 minute drive away.

The beautiful, historic Millennium Trail is only minutes away.

We have lovely neighbours all around us, that you may or may not encounter. Across the street is a lovely horse facility "Hadherway Farms" which offers equestrian riding lessons. Being on a country road we just say be aware of speedy idiots. Every county has a few.

He has spent half his life in or around music. Jen's roots are planted in Kenora, ON with a large part of her professional work career as a clothing designer in Vancouver. We are mad lovers of music, travel, nature, conservation and each other! As a guest you can expect the utmost respect for you, & your property.
