Neighborhood Restaurants
We’re very lucky to have the delicious food we have here in Los Cabos, and even better, a lot of it is very close to Casa Rompeolas. Here are some good options around our village of La Playita, and the city of San Jose del Cabo.
In La Playita, a few blocks and about a 5 minute walk from Casa Rompeolas is The Drunken Sailor, or “El Marinero Borracho” in Spanish. Serving up creative takes on traditional Baja seafood dishes, such as their “Taco Chino” a fish or shrimp taco prepared “asian style,” or their “Taco Arabe” a taco with shrimp stuffed falafels, and mediterranean garnishes and seasonings. Also serving more traditional seafood dishes like ceviche and aguachile.
The Drunken Sailor is a favorite for locals and tourists alike to have a tasty meal, beers, or delicious cocktails. Also, their avocado pie is an interesting dessert that many enjoy (though it may not be for everyone). Open for lunch and dinner. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Farm 2 Table
There are three world class organic farm to table restaurants very close to each other, and though all can be a bit pricey, they are all extremely delicious, fresh, and enjoyable experiences all around. I've listed a description of each of them, and they all have plenty of info online as well.
While Flora Farms can be pricey it is truly one of the most unique and well-known dining experiences in Los Cabos. They have what many have called the best pork chop they’ve ever had, on Tuesdays they have a Fried Chicken special, they have vegetarian and vegan options, meat and seafood, and everything is served with the freshest ingredients. They also serve up some insanely good cocktails. They have live music every night and on Sundays for brunch. My (Eliot, one of your hosts) band called “Shamans” plays there on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A reservation is highly recommended, and if you’re wanting to be close to the live music I recommend specifically requesting it since the restaurant is quite large and spread out.

While Flora Farms can be pricey it is truly one of the most unique and well-known dining experiences in Los Cabos. Breakfast/ Coffee
Pez Gallo is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BREAKFAST restaurant in town. They serve delicious coffee, and offer a diverse menu which never fails to satisfy and impress. From gourmet versions of mexican classics like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, to cinnamon “churro-like” pancakes, to grilled cheese, avocado toast, and falafel gyros, this place is a must! My go to is chilaquiles “divorciados” (half red sauce, half green sauce), with all the add-ons, and a “café mojito” (an iced coffee drink with mint and coconut milk). I’m not the only one that thinks this is the best breakfast spot in town, and unfortunately that can sometimes mean somewhat long waits since they don’t take reservations. But the restaurant is right on the town square in the middle of San Jose del Cabo's historic/art district so you can put your name on the list, order a coffee or other drink to-go, and head out to explore the surrounding downtown areas while you wait. They recently opened for dinner as well and it is equally diverse and delicious, some of the highlights of dinner for me are “pastor bao buns” and the “brisket torta.” Pez Gallo is about a 7-8 minute drive from Casa Rompeolas.

PEZGALLO Coffee

Along with Pez Gallo, this is probably the best coffee in town. Some prefer this coffee over Pez Gallo. As the name hints, they are a wine store (featuring an amazing collection) and coffee shop. They also sell tasty pastries and a simple breakfast menu now too. One location is at Flora Farms, 5 minutes from Casa Rompeolas, and the other location is by the grocery store La Comer, about a 10-11 minute drive from Casa Rompeolas.

A laidback, mostly outdoor restaurant serving tacos and other Mexican classics that are slightly more on the gourmet side compared to most local taco stands. Seafood, meat, and vegetarian options. Good selection of craft beer and cocktails as well. Great for lunch or dinner. About a 10 minute drive from Casa Rompeolas, right behind La Comer grocery store. Look for the giant "TACOS" sign on top of the building.

The music is quite loud and there are large flat screen TVS playing sports most of the time. Kind of a fancy-sports bar sushi bar vibe.
