Lawrencetown Beach is widely known amongst the surfing community for its excellent waves all year long.
The trails are 10.3 km inland and 3.2 km on a causeway through the Cole Harbour salt marsh, offering wonderful views, interpretive signage, and abundant wildlife. Salt marshes are a graceful intermingling of land, freshwater and a twice-daily flood of salt water. Trail activities include exploring the area’s wildlife, bird watching, hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Salt Marsh Trail is a section of the Trans Canada Trail, located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In one direction Salt Marsh continues into Shearwater Flyer Trail, and in the other continues into the Atlantic View Trail, and connects on the left to Cole Harbor Heritage Park. The main trail is linear and consists of flat, well-traveled gravel terrain. The trail is stroller and wheelchair friendly. Salt Marsh offers remote bog-land, salt marsh, and wildlife views. Accessibility: The trail surface is gravel and typically at least six feet wide. The grade is mostly gentle (all estimated under 5%).
