Explore our local marvels of nature and spend a day relaxing in clear watered natural pools. There are countless wonderful river beaches in the near vicinity of our rural cottage. We offer a transportation service to the beaches listed below for a 5-30 € / trip. These are all within a 10-50 min car drive from the cottage. Our local river beach of Machuca is reachable by foot through amazingly beautiful and wild forest trails. We recommend combining your river beach experience with a visit to a schist village and perhaps some hiking to make a perfect day out. Also ask for a packed picnics to accompany you!

The "Serra da Lousã" is a magnificent mountain range located between the towns of Lousã by North and Castanheira da Pera by south. There are countless trails on both sides of the mountain slope, for example from the North starting at the Lousã castle you can head up the mountains through dense woodland and water canals which ultimately end up to a number of "schist villages". By starting at the romantic town of Coentral several trails lead up to the very top the mountain at Sto. Antonio das Neves/Trevim situated at an altitude of 1200m. Some of these trails run along the river "Ribeira das Quelhas" with its several divine ponds and waterfalls makes for a remarkable experience as the nature changes swiftly with every meter gained in altitude.
