Kur būsite jūs

Tambon Mai Khao, Chang Wat Phuket, Tailandas

1) Plane spotting is a popular activity in Phuket. The hotspot for watching planes coming into land is at the western end of Phuket International Airport runway found at the southern end of Mai Khao Beach. The place is idyllic: Mai Khao Beach is up to 50 metres wide at high tide, and the turquoise colours of the sea, especially between 10:00 and 14:00, offer stunning photo opportunities.

2) Sirinath National Park covers an area of 90 square kilometres, from an area west of Phuket International Airport all the way to the island's northern tip, and encompassing Nai Yang, Nai Thon and Mai Khao beaches. At the northern end of the park, situated near Tah Chatchai, is a mangrove forest with saltwater swamps supporting unique eco-systems. A nature trail and 800m wooden walkway have been built, along with signs indicating and explaining the various species of plants and animals. Entrance at the northern tip of the island, near the bridge to Phang Nga.

3) Splash Jungle Water Park in Mai Khao Beach is unrivalled in southern Thailand when it comes to wet and wild thrills. A great day out, particularly for children, it is home to 12 exhilarating water slides, rides and attractions, with professional lifeguards on standby to make sure that you have fun and safe time.

4) The legendary Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket
In 1988, Yoshikazu Kato, one of Japan’s most prolific golf course architects started developing the site, originally an abandoned tin mine flanked by rubber plantations. Both courses were created around existing canyons and woodlands, with minimal interruption to the natural landscape and wildlife. The property is a masterpiece of design characterised by spectacular and daunting natural hazards including numerous water features accentuated by towering trees to challenge golfers of all levels.

5) Shopping: The Mai Khao Beach shopping scene remains modest. In fact, it is perfectly in line with the peaceful atmosphere of the northwestern end of Phuket Island. Mai Khao features the longest beach of Phuket – about 11 km long – and there aren't many shopping areas nearby. Resorts, many of them upscale, are found all along Mai Khao beachfront, with a few satellite businesses around them. The most notable shopping options, Turtle Village and Mai Khao Plaza, can be found at walking distance from Marriotts’ Mai Khao Beach and Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao, two opulent resorts located in the central area of the beach. The other standalone shopping opportunities at hand are just convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Supercheap, small mom’s and pop’s grocery stores. Many of them are located on the Road 3033, parallel to the beach. If you stay in Mai Khao and really want to go shopping, you’ll have to take a taxi to Central Festival Phuket, or in Jungceylon in Patong, the two largest shopping malls on the island.

6) IWP International Wake Park in Phuket is the best place to try the fun-filled activity of wakeboarding. Wakeboard the warm tropical waters of Thailand, while experiencing the diverse terrain from the ocean view at the International Wake Park. It is considered one of the best wake parks in the world thanks to its latest Rixen cable system.
Situated in the untouched Mai Khao area of Phuket, with unforgettable natural scenery surrounding the park, and conveniently only 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport, it is the perfect place for a sporty day out. Paddle boarding and kayaking are also on offer around the lake which makes for a great day out for couples, family, or friends.
