Welcome to our hidden/wild cabin in Oak Creek Canyon off 89A, in Sedona, Arizona. Originally our great-grandparents hunting and fishing getaway - this historic cabin housed some of the founding people who settled the Verde Valley & later Sedona. Charlie Willard, our great-great grandfather, founded Cottonwood, Arizona in 1876, & had multiple farms, homesteads in what now, Sedona. This cabin was used as a stop by his children and grand children who were traveling north by horse & automobile.

Svečio prieiga
Located across from Dairy Queen in the back of a 1950's courtyard of vintage trailers, sits our green cabin. In winter months, high clearance vehicles are strongly suggested due to snow. No wifi or cable, (talk to each other!) Enjoy a modest wall mounted TV and DVD player. Outdoor deck seating for your morning coffee, moments away from Indian Gardens Cafe for Breakfast, & Lunch, 10 minutes from beautiful West Fork hiking, or Slide Rock State Park for a stroll in the Orchard. Perfect stop on your way to National Parks like the Grand Canyon, or Flagstaff from Phoenix.

Vintage trailer court from the 1950's now inhabited by delightful sweet and charming humans who have been in Sedona their whole lives. Our cabin sits in the back, on the creek, having being built before the influx of tourism in Sedona. GPS is wrong about the location so best to look up the dairy queen to find area. You will see across the street past the road side motel our drive. You will go through the vintage trailer court to access the cabin.

Leah is AZ native Arizona girl born an raised in Sedona and the surrounding Verde Valley. Leah's great-great grandfather, Charlie Willard, founded Cottonwood, Arizona. This is his original hunting stop-over location from the late 1800's. The Cabin was built in 1930's and remained in her family ever since. "Our unique cabin is hidden in Oak Creek Canyon, off 89A, near Slide Rock State Park. After arriving in the Verde Valley in 1879, the Willard family joined with the Munds family to move their cattle and horses from the valley along Oak Creek to the mountains each spring and returning each fall, establishing the Munds Trail on what was later named Schnebly Hill. Camping, fishing, and hunting along Oak Creek became a family tradition. When Highway 79 was built through the orchard of a pioneer homestead, long-time Clemenceau School Superintendent Russell Taylor acquired the land on both sides of the road. Russell and Ramona (Kaiser) Taylor built the cabin where they lived with their son, Julian, until their home near the unpaved road was completed. They sold the cabin to their Cottonwood neighbors, W. Ersel and Jennie (Willard) Garrison, during the mid-1940's. This quaint hide-away has been used by the Garrison family and their friends as a stop-over on trips to the Flagstaff area, and for family vacations and gatherings. In the old tradition of "Western Hospitality," we are gladly sharing our history, heritage, and favorite cabin hide-away. The Don Willard family cousins built the red-rock buildings in central Sedona (still in use), where they operated a service station, motel, hardware and curious shops for many years. Charles D. Willard, a Cottonwood pioneer, original homesteaded is now Palatki State Park. Willard Springs, Munds Park, Munds Mountain and other landmarks were named for members of our extended pioneering family.
