The apartment is located in the heart of the typical streets of Genoa, very close to Via Luccoli and Piazza De Ferrari, near the Old Port and the main tourist attractions. It's a Genoese apartment with antique terracotta floors, frames and details made of slate and ceilings four meters high.
The room has two large windows, the double bed inserted into a niche framed by a splendid arch. Fresh in summer and warm in winter, the room is spacious and quiet.

Kiti svarbūs dalykai
The street is closed to traffic, so you will find a very quiet and smog free area!

Genova, Liguria, Italija

The "Sestiere della Maddalena" is one of the six ancient districts of the historical center of Genoa; as much as it preserves all the typical characteristics of the old city, the area has undergone many transformations over the centuries before having the image that we can see today. Maddalena Sestiere borders to the south with the Molo Sestiere, to the east with the Portoria one, to the north with S. Vincenzo and to the west with Pré. This part of the city was developed, as often happens for human settlements, as a village next to a passage area: the Roman road that connected the west to the east passing through the city.

Near the apartment, along the Maddalena-Molo demarcation area, there's Via di Soziglia: here, around the 12th century, a river with the same name flowed and a moat led to the sea the waters of the distant water fountains, until in the following centuries they were not channeled into pipes that were thrown into the sea; the place was home to a market where mainly poultry was sold. The nearby Via dei Macelli di Soziglia is one of many examples in which the toponym refers directly to the crafts of the ancient city and then to history: from the mid 1100s until the 15th century public slaughter took place on the ground floor of one of the buildings on the street, which still preserves the tradition of what was with the butchers that are located here.

Via Luccoli starts from Soziglia: the name of the street derives from the pagan "lucus", a sacred wood dedicated to Diana, goddess of the woods; here, in fact, there was a rather wide stain, initially outside the medieval walls, then rebuilt in the sixteenth-century walls and finally deforested in the 1600s. You can enter to the street from Piazza Fontane Marose, the result of the 16th century urban layout in which Strada Nuova (today Via Garibaldi) is opened. The square is a concentration of magnificent noble palaces of the most important families of the time (Spinola, since here they extended their district, Interiano, and then Centurione, Grimaldi), which together with the equally imposing ones of Strada Nuova had the specific purpose of represent worthily the power of the city aristocracy, captained by the authoritative figure of Andrea Doria. Regarding the name of the square there are different interpretations because the name has been changed at least three times: "amorose", "morose", "marose", but the correct term is only the last, as evidenced by the oldest public records and two ancient tombstones walled at the corner of Palazzo Pallavicini (one of 1206 and one of 1427); it should be remembered that in ancient times the sea was close enough to be visible from the square, and some scholars attribute precisely to this fact the name of the fountains. Here springs a source for which in 1206 was built the appropriate fountain - then embellished in the '500 with a project of the Alessi - where now is Via Interiano; at the opening of the street in 1849, it was demolished. It was fed by springs coming from the Bachernia Valley (that is the nearby hill of S.Anna, which took the new name at the end of the 16th century from a convent built there) that filled a large 17 meters deep cistern, which was buried with the construction of the road and still exists today under the road surface. In the nineteenth century there was the four-horse stagecoach bearing the post, and in 1831 the railings called popularly "mail irons" were placed towards Via Luccoli. The service was maintained until 1880, when the post offices were transferred to the new Galleria Mazzini.
