The Dark Side of Glasgow Tour
Recently named ‘Europe’s murder capital’ and voted the ‘UK’s friendliest city’ in the same week! It’s fair to say Glasgow is a confusing city, which means you need a true Weegie to show you the ropes. Follow me and we’ll explore famous landmarks and gritty street art, while I tell you of Glasgow’s crime and macabre past! Its ties to the slave trade, its gangs, its godfathers, its ghosts, and its twisted serial killers! This is not your average tour, full of dull architectural facts and dates. No! We are absolutely bursting with trademark dry Glaswegian humour and have all the feisty, entertaining tales the tourist industry likes to leave out! 'People Make Glasgow' and this is a tour dedicated to the people and their thrilling, hilarious, and sometimes terrifying adventures. Want to know about Bible John? The Human Crocodile? The Gorbals Vampire? Arthur Thompson and his kin? Then look no further! These are not the stories you will find in museums, they cannot be summed up in a book. We Glaswegians are known to spin a yarn and are the world’s greatest storytellers. I will add in my own anecdotes passed down from my family, including both the historical facts and the mythical imaginings clearly defined. You will learn to admire our working-class charm. Our brutality, our humour and most of all our complexity. Edinburgh might be Scotland’s brain, but Glasgow is its heart!

People Make Glasgow
This is a very popular tour. We meet George Square, between the Lions. For the 10.30 tour we focus on Glasgow’s city centre it’s mysterious history and association with tobacco and slavery. Walking around the city centre ending at Glasgow Cross the heart of the Medieval city. The tour examines how Glasgow went from being a small rural medieval city around 500 CE to the world's powerhouse with a population of over a million people. The city has re-invented itself several times and is now transforming itself into one of worlds most beautiful cities from an ugly industrial despoiled blot. Trace the slave trade and the ruthless barons who profited from the mysery of millions of africans. But before them it was Scotsmen who were enslaved to colonies in the Americas. We explore Glasgow's complex social, religous and political past when tanks patrolled Glasgow city centre and riots led to executions at Glasgow Cross. Glasgow has it all from political religous and social strife. Gordon is a great raconteur, a trained actor with a comedic talent. Starting George Square, through the financial district (Glasgow's fifth avenue), Buchanan street then exploring the Merchant City, Hutcheson's Hospital, Ramshorn Kirk, Old fruit market, Tron Kirk and Steeple then down to the Medieval High street and Mercat Cross.
