Ką veiksite

We will first visit the Badshahi Ashurkhana, a Shia-Muslim place of mourning, which is one of the oldest landmarks of Hyderabad, that is more than 400 years old.

After that we will walk through the lanes of the Old City, and then visit the Charminar (open from sunrise, tickets must be bought online), which is Hyderabad's foundation, and then proceed to visit other places nearby like the Mecca Masjid (mosque, only from outside) . These places will make you understand the city's core Persian culture and architecture of the Qutb Shahi dynasty (1518-1687).

Guests may also get a peak into seeing live how Irani chai is made; at a cafe near the Charminar.

And for book lovers , the guided tour will also include a visit to one the oldest book store's in Hyderabad, which sells rare books (only in 2nd half of the day). Those interested in purchasing the books, which include English, Persian, Arabic and Urdu collections, can do so.

Please keep in mind, we will also visit religious places, so wearing shorts might hinder access in one of the religious places (carrying a scarf is also adviced).

Participants also have the option to eat Hyderabad's famous (and ubiquitous) Biryani. This is optional, and depends on personal preferences.
Other things to note
The meeting point is easy to reach. Participants have to buy your their tickets at online, without fail. The tour can be customized depending on your interests. We can also have the famous Hyderabadi biryani for lunch, provided participants are comfortable with eating out.

Having been a reporter for over 7 years in my city, I can say with some gumption that I know Hyderabad like no one else. I've been researching on Hyderabad's lesser known history from over 2 years (which is why I started my blog, The Hyderabad History Project), and I can guarantee that you will see a completely different side of Hyderabad as a traveler, especially if you're looking for a well-rounded historical perspective.

Hyderabad is mostly known for its old monuments, but a lot of people miss out on things beyond the usual/touristy places. Often, people skip seeing the city's lesser known monuments, which are really important. Through my research, I also know a lot of other cool stuff about the city, which I am sure as a traveler, one would love to learn about.

Yunus was a fabulous host. It was clear from the start that he knows his stuff. He explained the history of the various places we went to and the broader socio-political history of Hyderabad really well & welcomed questions. It was an excellent tour and at the end of it, it really didn't feel like it had been 2.5 hours because it was varied and interesting. I recommend this tour highly.

Yunus has a vast knowledge of the city and its history. I could see his effort to explain to me about common historical facts so that I could understand better. Highly recommended, and also, he has good suggestions for getting to know Hyderabad.

Yunus was exceptionally knowledgeable and was exactly what we were looking for. He went above and beyond to give us an idea of the history and the significance of things to do with the tour and more. We very much enjoyed his company and recommend him to anyone.

The tour with Yunus was wonderful. We learned so much about the history of the area, he has the most knowledge and is passionate about this topic. He went so far above and beyond being just our tour guide: we also tried delicious local food, he gave us great recommendations for other meals and sights, and even helped my husband get a good haircut! He does tours of the old city as well as the fort and tombs nearby. So much of the appeal of these sights would have been lost on me without the context provided by Yunus. Cannot recommend his tours enough.

A rich experience with thoughtful structured story telling that gives a deep understanding of Hyderabadi history, politics and society... Tour guide, Yunus, is a writer, journalist and historian, who knows also has great food recommendations (the cheese dosa is a must). Highly recommend this for any visitor to Hyderabad... Just sorry, I couldn't attend his tour of the Qutub Tombs as well.
